Caregiver Development Program
The goal of the Caregiver Development Program is to form a path for caregiver advancement, development, education and recognition that will increase hourly pay for our caregivers, while also increasing quality of care for our families. Here’s how it works:
To receive higher base hourly pay, complete the stages of the Caregiver Development Program, starting with the Caregiver II criteria. Once completed, submit the document to your supervisor for a 4% pay increase to your base hourly pay rate. Complete Caregiver III criteria for another 4% increase. Receive an additional 8% increase once you become a Caregiver Lead. In all, you can increase your pay up to $17%.
To receive higher base hourly pay at any time, complete CareAcademy training programs or acquire certifications, like a CNA certification or CPR certification. You’ll be paid while training in CareAcademy, plus receive an increase to your base hourly pay. If you complete all training and certificates, you will receive a pay increase of up to $1.75/hour.

Common Questions:

ANSWER: Your current title and base pay will remain the same. However, you can significantly increase your hourly earnings by participating in the Caregiver Development Program and meeting the requirements for each level.
How do I get started?
ANSWER: It's easy! Just let your supervisor know you're interested. She'll enroll you in your first CareAcademy training courses and provide a clear checklist outlining the steps to follow for advancement.
Am I required to participate in the Caregiver Development Program?
ANSWER: Participation is not mandatory, but it is highly encouraged! This program is designed to help you enhance your skills, knowledge, and earning potential.
When will my pay be updated once I complete a requirement?
ANSWER: Your pay increase will be retroactive to the date you successfully completed the requirement, ensuring you receive fair compensation for your efforts.
Can my pay go down if my CNA or CPR certifications expire?
ANSWER: Yes, the additional pay you receive for holding a CNA or CPR certification is contingent on maintaining those certifications. If they expire, the corresponding pay increase will be removed. We encourage you to keep your certifications current to maximize your earning potential.
How long do I have to complete each level (Caregiver II, Caregiver III, Caregiver Lead)?
ANSWER: The program is self-paced, so you can progress at a speed that suits your learning style and schedule. However, we encourage you to set goals and work towards advancement steadily.
What if I already have some of the certifications or training listed?
ANSWER: Your existing certifications are valuable and reflect your expertise. However, the pay increases in this program are specifically tied to completing the program's requirements. This ensures fairness and consistency for all participants. You can still benefit from the program by gaining new knowledge and skills that will enhance your caregiving abilities.
Are there any opportunities for advancement beyond Caregiver Lead within this program?
ANSWER: Absolutely! Completing the Caregiver Development Program positions you well for future advancement opportunities. As our company grows, we plan to create new roles, such as Caregiver Supervisor. By participating in this program, you demonstrate your commitment to professional growth, making you a strong candidate for these positions as they become available.
Will the required training be paid or unpaid? How will this impact my schedule and income?
ANSWER: All required training will be paid, so you won't miss out on earnings while enhancing your skills. We'll work with you to adjust your schedule as needed to accommodate any in-person training sessions.
Can I suggest additional training topics or certifications that I'm interested in?
ANSWER: Yes, your feedback is very important to us! We value your input and want to ensure this program meets your needs and interests. Please share your suggestions with your supervisor, and we'll consider them for future program enhancements.
